Assessment, selection and development

As an experienced assessment centre manager and assessor, I am skilled in the use of in-tray exercises, group exercises, role-plays, presentations and competency-based interviews for performance assessment. These can be used for both selection and development of staff, and overall talent management.

I provide comprehensive feedback to individuals who have been assessed either face-to-face or by telephone, supported by a development planning discussion and personalised profile report.

Executive coaching

Using results from personality questionnaires as a starting point, I enable individuals to examine their behaviour preferences and style at work, create powerful personal development plans and then to work towards their implementation.

Through a flexible programme of coaching meetings (face-to-face, telephone or email) individuals are encouraged to reflect on what motivates them and what gets in the way when interacting with others at work.

By exploring challenging work-based scenarios, individuals understand more about how their interpersonal needs are met and the impact their behaviour has in the workplace and on colleagues, identifying areas for change. Through a process of action and review, individuals are supported in building greater self esteem and effectiveness in working with colleagues.

Training

To help organisational teams maximise their ability to communicate effectively with others at work, I design training programmes to identify specific written and verbal communication needs within a specific work context.

Course materials are activities are created using live work-based material and adapted according to the changing needs of course members throughout the learning process. I draw on both my psychological knowledge and editorial skills to provide insightful and professional understanding of the art of communicating.

New, improved methods of getting the message across are practised between and during training sessions involving role-play, discussion and letter-writing tasks. A contract for communicating more effectively beyond the training programme is agreed by course members.
